Letter from the editor

Dr Hashbrowns peers over the back of a dark leather couch with a skeptical expression.
The editor reviews this letter.

Dear reader,

Dr Hashbrowns meets every member of staff at the door. She knows when dinner is served and when it's time for bed. If the staff stay up late, so does she. A professional this dependable deserves coverage. Until today she had none.

This publication intends to fix that. Each issue will document her work and her appearance and whatever opinions she chooses to share. Where the facts are clear we'll print them. Where they aren't we'll print them anyway with confidence.

She reviewed this letter the way she reviews everything here: by following it from room to room until it was finished.

The Quarterly is free. The Doctor is not.

Dr Hashbrowns peeks out from inside a paper grocery bag lying on its side on a tiled floor. Only her face and one paw are visible.

Dinner is served at the same time every day and she would like it to stay that way. Contributions go to her household. They pay for her food, her care and the occasional new box.

Dr Hashbrowns is a cat and not a charity…yet. Contributions are gifts and are not tax-deductible.
